Throughout the years of my life spent in agriculture, I have seen big changes in the types of goods that we produce and the ways that our farmers interact with consumers. Changes are never easy, but they are a necessary step towards a better future.
As agriculture has adapted and changed, so should government be flexible to the will of the people it represents. We’ve had a great deal of rapid growth in Scott County, and we need to ensure that we maintain a healthy balance between bringing new opportunities to our region and ensuring the stability of our established businesses.
Backed by my own experience in our local government, I can say that there are many wonderful things happening in Scott County. But we need open-minded and fair leadership to take into account all of the things we can be doing to address the changing needs of our county. At the end of the day, I’m interested in making our communities an even greater place to call home, for our generation and the next.
